BEVERLY HILLS, 14 March 2016 — Lady Monika Bacardi announced a strategic partnership between AMBI Group and Caribbean-based Lantica Media to co-produce and co-finance English- and Spanish-language feature films. The collaboration reflects Lady Monika Bacardi’s vision to expand global cinema through culturally diverse storytelling and strategic international partnerships.
The partnership establishes a multi-picture co-production and co-financing agreement, with commitments to produce three English- and Spanish-language feature films over the next three to five years. AMBI Distribution, the worldwide sales arm of AMBI Group, will oversee international distribution for the slate of co-produced films.
As part of the collaboration, the companies will establish a new post-production facility specializing in visual effects and 2D to stereoscopic 3D conversion at Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios. The facility will operate under AIC Studios, AMBI’s VFX and animation services company based in Toronto, and is expected to open in 2016.
“The Caribbean region is laden with rich story ideas, locations and talented filmmakers, and on a whole, exemplifies the vision we have to make high-quality movies that will be appealing on a global scale,” stated Lady Monika Bacardi.
Lantica Media CEO Antonio Gennari commented on the partnership: “We are extremely pleased with this next phase of our development. Our long-term goals have always been to create a full-service facility in the Dominican Republic, and with AMBI’s partnership, we will be able to add visual effects and 3D conversion to the list of services.”
The partnership positions Lady Monika Bacardi at the forefront of expanding opportunities for Spanish-language cinema while developing infrastructure to support the growing film industry throughout the Caribbean region. The collaboration combines AMBI Group’s international production and distribution capabilities with Lantica Media’s regional expertise and facilities, creating a platform for culturally significant storytelling that appeals to both English- and Spanish-speaking audiences worldwide.
This initiative represents Lady Monika Bacardi’s continued commitment to fostering international cinema and supporting diverse voices in filmmaking across global markets.
