LONDON, 17 October 2025 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the inaugural amfAR London 2025 gala, held at The Chancery Rosewood. The distinguished evening raised $2.1 million for amfAR’s lifesaving biomedical research and advocacy programs.
Lady Monika Bacardi was accompanied by her daughter Maria Luisa Bacardi at this historic fundraising event. The gala coincided with Frieze London and the BFI London Film Festival, bringing together prominent figures from the worlds of art, film, and philanthropy.
The evening featured presentations to honorees Dame Tracey Emin, who received the amfAR Award of Inspiration, and Natasha Poonawalla, who was honored with the amfAR Philanthropic Leadership Award. The event was hosted by acclaimed actress Joely Richardson.
The night included spectacular performances by legendary artist Grace Jones and British singer-songwriter Jess Glynne. The auction, led by auctioneer Simon de Pury, featured exceptional lots including a stunning Tracey Emin artwork titled Twilight, which sold for £450,000.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s attendance at this inaugural London event underscores her ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that address global health challenges through medical research. The amfAR Foundation has raised nearly $950 million since 1985 in support of AIDS research and has awarded more than 3,800 grants to research teams worldwide.
The Chancery Rosewood served as presenting sponsor for the gala, marking amfAR’s first major fundraising event in London and expanding the foundation’s international presence beyond its established galas in Cannes, Venice, and other global cities.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s participation in distinguished charitable initiatives continues to demonstrate her dedication to supporting programs that advance medical research and humanitarian causes on the international stage.
