BERLIN, 15 February 2015 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the 65th Berlin International Film Festival, joining distinguished guests from the international film community for this prestigious celebration of cinema.
The festival, chaired by acclaimed American director Darren Aronofsky, presented an exceptional program showcasing the finest in contemporary world cinema. Aronofsky brought his distinctive vision to the jury, having previously presided over the 2011 Venice Film Festival.
The festival honored legendary German filmmaker Wim Wenders with an Honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement. Wenders’s latest film, “Every Thing Will Be Fine,” was presented out of competition during this special tribute, recognizing his extraordinary contributions to cinema over decades.
The Golden Bear for Best Film was awarded to “Taxi” (also known as “Taxi Tehran”) by renowned Iranian director Jafar Panahi. The compelling film offered an intimate portrait of life in Tehran despite the filmmaker working under significant restrictions.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s presence at the Berlin Film Festival reflected her sustained commitment to supporting international cinema and celebrating artistic excellence across cultures. Her attendance at such distinguished events continues to reinforce her position as a patron of the arts who bridges Monaco’s cultural heritage with the global film community.
