LONDON, 6 December 2024 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the private viewing of “Mind on the Walls,” Daniel Lismore’s debut solo painting exhibition at Farsight Gallery in Soho. The distinguished evening marked a significant milestone in the artistic journey of Lady Monika Bacardi’s longtime friend, celebrated creative Daniel Lismore.
Renowned for pushing the boundaries of artistic expression through his work as a living sculpture, Lismore embarked on an emotional and transformative new chapter with this exhibition, presenting an exceptional collection of paintings. The show, which opened to the public on 7 December and ran through 15 December 2024, featured works stemming from profound journeys of self-discovery and resilience.
“Painting has been a therapeutic journey for me,” Lismore explained. “After being told I couldn’t paint for most of my life, I started again during a difficult period, and it’s been transformative. These pieces are not just art—they are imprints of my mind, my emotions, and my story.”
Encouraged by his therapist, Lismore revisited painting, confronting years of self-doubt rooted in his school experiences. What began as a personal experiment rapidly evolved into an intense creative outpouring, resulting in 300 artworks produced within just four days. This raw and unfiltered collection, later named “4 Days” upon the suggestion of legendary performance artist Marina Abramović, served as the centerpiece of the exhibition.
Lismore’s latest series, Thoughtscapes, created over the past year, explores profound themes of love, loss, and the complexities of human identity. These works merge abstract forms with vivid narratives, challenging conventional aesthetics and providing insight into the artist’s dynamic and deeply emotive creative process. Influenced by trailblazers such as Picasso, Basquiat, and Hockney, the pieces embody Lismore’s unyielding passion for self-expression and artistic innovation.
“Each piece captures fragments of my subconscious: moments of love and loss, reflections on humanity’s beauty and brutality, and the dualities of my own identity,” Lismore shared. “Drawing inspiration from my dreams and emotions, I aim to challenge the viewer to see the world through my lens—messy, chaotic, but always deeply human.”
The immersive exhibition featured bold textures, compelling visuals, and a fearless narrative that captured Lismore’s transformative creative evolution. To ensure broader accessibility, select prints from the collection were made available for purchase, allowing more people to connect with and own a piece of this extraordinary art.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s presence at the private viewing underscored her ongoing support for innovative artistic endeavors and her dedication to championing creative voices that challenge conventional boundaries. Her attendance reflected a longstanding friendship with Lismore and a shared commitment to artistic expression that explores the depths of human experience.
“My work isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence,” Lismore noted. “Every line, stroke, and color is a snapshot of a moment, an imprint of a feeling, or an echo of an experience. I hope this exhibition inspires others to ditch doubt, pick up a brush, and create without fear.”
Hosted by Farsight Collective, the exhibition was open daily from 12 noon to 6 PM at the gallery’s Soho location, offering visitors an extraordinary journey into Lismore’s artistic vision and emotional landscape.
