MONACO, 4 November 2024 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the annual charity gala dinner of Monaco Disease Power, held at the Monaco Yacht Club. The distinguished evening, themed “La Bella Vita,” brought together supporters of the organization’s vital work supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, as well as their families.
His Serene Highness Prince Albert II of Monaco graced the event with his presence, demonstrating the Principality’s continued commitment to improving resources for individuals with disabilities and raising awareness around these important causes. Under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II, Monaco Disease Power has become a cornerstone organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for those affected by autism and intellectual challenges.
Lady Monika Bacardi attended the event alongside fellow members of the CSM Monaco community, including Professor Patrick Rampal. The evening also welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Brych, leaders of GEMLUC—a Monaco-based non-profit organization supporting cancer research and treatment—as well as Bernard D’Alessandri, General Secretary and Managing Director of the Monaco Yacht Club.
Monaco Disease Power was founded in 2007 with a mission to improve the lives of individuals with autism and intellectual disabilities while providing essential support to their families. The organization focuses on promoting social inclusion and independence for those affected through comprehensive programs ranging from daily outings and skill-building workshops to physical activities such as yoga and equine therapy. These initiatives are carefully designed to enhance life skills and encourage socialization within a supportive and welcoming environment.
One of Monaco Disease Power’s most significant achievements is “La Maison d’Amélie,” a facility offering short-term housing and care. This invaluable resource allows families much-needed respite while ensuring quality support for their loved ones. Originally opened in 2013 and expanded in 2018, the facility provides a welcoming and safe space for residents. The organization continues to expand its reach with plans to develop additional housing in Annot, France, to serve a growing number of families requiring specialized care.
Monaco Disease Power is funded primarily through private contributions, with major fundraising events such as the annual gala at the Monaco Yacht Club serving as essential sources of support. These prestigious gatherings bring together notable guests and generous donors who share the organization’s commitment to future expansions and improvements to its services. Through these collaborative efforts, Monaco Disease Power addresses the critical lack of specialized services in the region, helping families access essential resources while advocating for disability rights and awareness.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s attendance at this meaningful event reflects her broader commitment to supporting organizations that create positive change in the lives of vulnerable communities and promote social inclusion on an international scale.
