MONACO, 28 September 2017 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the inaugural Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean, held on the exclusive terraces of the Monte-Carlo Opera. The distinguished evening brought together international figures from entertainment, philanthropy, and environmental advocacy to support the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation’s initiatives for a sustainable global ocean.
Presided by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, accompanied by H.S.H. Princess Charlène of Monaco, the Gala raised $14 million to support critical ocean conservation efforts. The funds will advance the Foundation’s work to combat plastic pollution, strengthen marine protected areas, conserve endangered species, and promote innovative solutions for ocean sustainability.
Academy Award-winning actor and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio received the Award of the Albert II of Monaco Foundation for his outstanding work to protect and preserve the planet.
