Monika Bacardi, very involved in charity galas and environmental protection, attended the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean alongside H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

On this occasion, many international stars attended such as Madonna, Leonardo DiCaprio, Pierce Brosnan, Orlando Bloom, Hugh Grant, Andy Garcia, Goldie Hawn, Eva Longaria, Toni Garrn and Robert Kennedy Jr.

Every year, the Gala brings together personalities committed to protecting the oceans to work around the world and rewards the best initiatives.

The proceeds of the exceptional auction organised during the evening, under the hammer of Simon de Pury, will be used to finance priority action programmes for the Foundation in the fight against plastic pollution, the improvement of scientific knowledge on acidification, coral protection, the development of marine protected areas, the preservation of threatened species and innovative technologies.

H.S.H. Prince Albert II said: “The oceans are the lung of our planet. Our standard of living, our economy and even our health depend on it. But they are seriously threatened by the consequences of climate change and marine pollution. I believe that all is not lost if we work hand in hand”
