This 2019 edition rewarded director Peter Farelly for the Oscar for the best film with Green Book.
The statuette of the best director was awarded to Alfonso Cuarón for Roma.

Olivia Colman won the Oscar for best actress for the role of Anne of England in La Favorite while best actor was awarded to Rami Malek for the role of Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody.

In the end, the Favorite won only one Oscar despite ten nominations.

Bohemian Rhapsody also won the best editing, best sound editing, and best sound mixing, for a total of 4 Oscars. Green Book also won the best oroginal script.
