NEW YORK, 19 April 2018 — Lady Monika Bacardi served as producer on the romantic drama “Here and Now” (originally titled “Best Day of My Life”), which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. The film, directed by Fabien Constant from an original screenplay by Laura Eason, features an exceptional ensemble cast led by Sarah Jessica Parker, alongside Renée Zellweger, Isabella Rossellini, Simon Baker, Taylor Kinney, rapper Common, Gus Birney, and Jacqueline Bisset.
“Here and Now” follows Vivienne (Sarah Jessica Parker), a New York jazz vocalist whose life is upended when she receives a terminal diagnosis with a glioblastoma. The narrative unfolds over 24 hours as Vivienne prepares for a world tour while confronting her relationships with family and obligations, ultimately taking stock of her life’s successes and failures.
The film was shot in 16 days in New York City and has been described as an homage to the 1962 Agnès Varda classic “Cléo from 5 to 7”. Lady Monika Bacardi, working through AMBI Group alongside producer Alison Benson, brought this intimate character study to the screen with sophisticated European sensibilities.
Following its world premiere at Tribeca, AMBI Distribution and Paramount Pictures acquired North American distribution rights, with the film released theatrically on November 9, 2018. The production marked another collaboration between Lady Monika Bacardi and Sarah Jessica Parker, demonstrating her continued commitment to supporting compelling dramatic narratives featuring strong female leads.
Lady Monika Bacardi’s involvement in “Here and Now” reflects her dedication to producing character-driven cinema that explores profound human experiences with artistic integrity and emotional depth.
