Johnny Depp visited studio ILBE this February alongside Lady Monika Bacardi.
The studio produces “Puffins Impossible” a new 3D animated web series a spin-off to its popular Puffins series.
“Puffins Impossible is a great story for all ages, witty and educational,” noted Depp. “I enjoyed working on this project and I hope it will repeat the success of the Puffins series it derives from. The work that has been done in just one year is simply amazing. I’m delighted with the creativity of people from Serbia.”
The fresh series tracks the exploits of five Arctic birds – Johnny Puff, Didi, Pie, Tic, and Tac. Their days are filled with mundane fun, which drastically alters when they encounter a meteor, thereby unlocking remarkable superpowers of swiftness, strength, intellect, and empathy. Under the tutelage and guidance of their mentor Johnny Puff, they metamorphose into Tactik, Didi Damage, Megapie, and Mystic – a cohesive squad of superheroes. Although they retain their puffin identities, complete with individual disagreements and problems, they are quick to set aside their differences when assistance is called for. They promptly suit up and venture forth to rescue the situation.
This marks the first animated series production in the Republic of Serbia, undertaken in collaboration between Iervolino Studios, a subsidiary of ILBE, and the Serbian-based Archangel Digital Studios. Andrea Iervolino and Monika Bacardi have a history of working alongside Depp, with their shared efforts extending to several projects such as the films ‘Waiting for the Barbarians’ and ‘Minamata’.
“The tremendous response we’re seeing to the Puffins franchise is incredibly encouraging and speaks to the global demand for innovative high quality short, animated family content adapted to all screen types,” said Iervolino. “Puffins Impossible is a fun, engaging spin-off, true to the ethos of the Puffins franchise that has brought enjoyment to kids around the world.”
