MONACO, 28 July 2017 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the 69th Monaco Red Cross Ball Gala, the world’s most prestigious charity event held in the presence of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Princess Charlene at the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Monte-Carlo.
Since 1948, this legendary gala has illuminated the Principality’s summer season, bringing together prominent figures from around the world to support the humanitarian mission of the Monaco Red Cross. The evening represents the organization’s principal fundraising event, with proceeds supporting vital humanitarian programs that assisted more than 70,000 people in 2016.
Lady Monika Bacardi, renowned for her dedication to philanthropic initiatives, joined distinguished guests including four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome and his wife, actor Billy Zane, supermodel Victoria Silvstedt, actress Monica Bellucci, and French actor François Cluzet. The evening’s hosts, journalist Maïtena Biraben and actor François Cluzet, opened the festivities by conducting the prestigious prize draw.
The gala featured exceptional entertainment curated by the Artistic Management of Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer. South African rock group Just Jinjer set the evening’s tone during dinner, followed by a captivating performance from French artist Christine and the Queens, who ignited the Salle des Etoiles with her biggest hits. The concert preceded a spectacular fireworks display over the Mediterranean, followed by performances from all-female country band Fading June and French accordionist and jazzman Ludovic Beier.
Each year, the Monaco Red Cross receives a specially commissioned work of art from a renowned artist. For the 69th edition, Italian artist Pino Pinelli created “Pittura R.B. 2016,” which was displayed in the hall of the Sporting Monte-Carlo throughout the evening.
