CANNES, May 2026 — Lady Monika Bacardi attended the 2026 Kering Women in Motion Awards dinner, one of the most celebrated evenings of the 79th Festival de Cannes.
Held at the Place de la Castre, the hilltop venue overlooking the bay, the annual gala gathered some of Hollywood’s most influential names for an evening dedicated to women in cinema. This year’s Women in Motion Award was presented to Julianne Moore, chosen by François-Henri Pinault, Chairman and CEO of Kering, alongside Cannes President Iris Knobloch and General Delegate Thierry Frémaux. Moore’s acceptance speech turned the typically glamorous but uneventful occasion into something altogether more charged — a direct, impassioned address to an industry room on the importance of women’s stories and the actresses who tell them.
The Emerging Talent Award went to Italian filmmaker Margherita Spampinato. Guests including Chloé Zhao, Isabelle Huppert, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Salma Hayek Pinault gathered under the open Cannes sky for an evening that balanced elegance with conviction in equal measure.
