ROME, July 24, 2014 — Lady Monika Bacardi, co-founder of AMBI Pictures, produced the science fiction action thriller “2047: Sights of Death” (also released as “Death Squad”), featuring an ensemble of distinguished Hollywood actors including Stephen Baldwin, Danny Glover, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, and Rutger Hauer.
Released in Italy on July 24, 2014, the futuristic film represents AMBI Pictures’ commitment to international co-productions, bringing together talent from across continents. Directed by Alessandro Capone and written by Tommaso Agnese and Luca D’Alisera, the production filmed at TVR Voxson Spa Studios in Rome, Italy.
The science fiction thriller follows Ryan Willburn (Stephen Baldwin), a Green War rebel agent sent on a mission to collect evidence against the Confederate Central Government for its crimes. The mission becomes complicated when Willburn encounters Tuag (Neva Leoni), a mutant survivor navigating the dangerous landscape of 2047.
The cast features Danny Glover as Sponge, Daryl Hannah as Major Anderson, Michael Madsen as Lobo, Stephen Baldwin as Ryan Willburn, and Rutger Hauer as Colonel Asimov. The international production also included Italian actors Neva Leoni, Kai Portman, Benjamin Stender, Timothy Martin, Marco Bonini, and Mario Opinato.
The film represents a collaboration between AMBI Pictures, Canal+ Polska, and Red New Line, demonstrating AMBI’s capability for complex international co-productions. Maria Luisa Bacardi, daughter of Lady Monika Bacardi, contributed to the film’s soundtrack by directing the song “You’re Not Alone,” adding a personal family dimension to the production.
